Two of South Korea’s leading retail destinations, ShinsegaePremium Outlets in Busan and Yeoju, have upgraded their audio infrastructure to improve reliability, coverage and control across open-air environments. Delivered by LCS Global with DasanSR, the project replaced ageing systems with network-enabled Powersoft Mezzo and Quattrocanali platforms supporting background music and public address. Completed without disrupting daily operations, the installation restores consistent coverage, enhances sound quality and introduces centralised monitoring with a scalable, future-ready design.

Shinsegae Premium Outlets operate two of South Korea’s most visited open-air shopping destinations, featuring multiple buildings arranged along pedestrian streets and public gathering areas.

To maintain a premium retail experience, both sites rely on reliable background music and public-address systems operating continuously throughout the year.
The existing amplifier infrastructure, based on ageing technology, had begun to suffer from equipment failures and declining performance. Distributor DasanSR engaged system integrator LCS Global to design and implement a comprehensive upgrade across both outlet malls.

The project focused on replacing legacy amplifiers with modern network-enabled platforms while maintaining compatibility with existing loudspeakers and infrastructure wherever possible.

Because both retail sites operate 365 days a year, the installation had to be carried out with no disruption to daytime operations.
At the Busan outlet, the system was upgraded to a fully operational live system within approximately two weeks, while the Yeoju installation was completed over five overnight work sessions.

Across both sites, LCS Global deployed a large fleet of Powersoft Mezzo and Quattrocanali amplifiers, selected for their high channel density and compact form factor, enabling the integrator to maximise output channels while minimising rack space requirements across multiple technical rooms.

The installation also modernised the network architecture supporting the audio infrastructure. At Yeoju, the system now combines CobraNet and AVB network technologies, while the Busan site has been migrated to a Dante-based architecture with redundant signal paths to ensure continuous operation.

Centralised monitoring through Powersoft’s ArmoníaPlus platform provides operators with real-time control of power, signal levels and output impedance across the system, enabling maintenance teams to identify potential issues before they affect performance.

The result is a robust and scalable audio infrastructure capable of supporting reliable music playback and public announcements across large outdoor retail environments.

One of the most significant challenges was carrying out a major infrastructure upgrade at two active retail sites without disrupting daily operations.
Both outlet malls operate continuously throughout the year, meaning background music and public-address systems needed to remain fully functional at all times.

The installation therefore had to be carefully scheduled during overnight periods, with the integrator working within narrow maintenance windows to replace critical system components.

Another challenge involved modernising the network architecture while maintaining compatibility with existing infrastructure elements that remained in use.
In addition, the system needed to provide reliable audio coverage across large open-air environments with multiple buildings and outdoor pedestrian areas.

Finally, the upgraded infrastructure needed to deliver long-term operational stability, allowing facility managers to monitor system performance in real time and respond quickly to any faults.

Delivering consistent, high-quality audio across expansive outdoor retail environments is no small feat, particularly when those environments must remain fully operational throughout an upgrade. This project succeeds on both fronts.

Across two major outlet destinations, the installation introduces a robust and modern audio backbone capable of handling both ambient music and critical announcements with equal reliability. The use of network-enabled amplification ensures efficient system design, high channel density and real-time monitoring, which are all essential in large-scale commercial settings.

What elevates the project further is its execution: completed without disruption to daily operations, it demonstrates a clear understanding of retail priorities alongside technical excellence.
