PROJECT CHALLENGES
Balancing aesthetic expectations with high-performance audio requirements presented an early challenge, as the venue demanded a solution that complemented its refined design without compromising sound quality. This was further compounded by the complexity of the space—spanning multiple lounges, private rooms, and dining areas—each requiring consistent yet tailored coverage for both ambient dining and live performance.

Additionally, construction conditions introduced technical constraints, particularly on the second floor where expansive glass panels limited traditional speaker mounting options. All of this needed to be addressed within a condensed four-week installation window following months of coordination with the design team and other trades.

GLOBAL AV’s RESPONSE
Through close collaboration with the project team, and our Partners at 1Sound, we identified and deployed the Cannon C8 Loudspeakers, achieving the ideal balance between architectural integration and high-quality audio performance. Leveraging 1Sound’s accessory and mounting solutions, we overcame structural limitations by implementing alternative ceiling-mounted configurations, preserving both design intent and acoustic integrity.

This proactive approach allowed us to streamline installation and successfully execute within the accelerated timeline. The resulting distributed audio system delivers seamless, multi-zone coverage across all areas of the venue, supporting both subtle ambiance and dynamic live entertainment. With the integration of the Shure ULXD microphone system, the space now accommodates nightly performances, adding an additional layer of energy and elevating the overall guest experience.

1587 Prime is a venue defined by intention in every detail—from meticulously sourced cuisine to a carefully curated soundscape that shapes the guest experience. From the outset, the project set out to establish a new benchmark for how audio can elevate fine dining, seamlessly integrating performance, atmosphere, and design.

Global AV Group’s approach ensured that audio was not an afterthought, but a foundational element of the environment. Through thoughtful system design, strategic product selection, and precise execution, we delivered an experience that transitions effortlessly from refined ambiance to high-energy live entertainment. The result is a cohesive, immersive atmosphere that enhances both the identity of the venue and the experience of every guest.

The project’s success is further reflected in its industry recognition, including being featured on the first 2026 cover of Premier Hospitality International—a testament to its impact and visibility within the global hospitality design community. By combining innovative technology from 1Sound with disciplined deployment and design integration, this project represents a meaningful contribution not only to Kansas City’s evolving hospitality landscape, but also to the broader audio industry—demonstrating how sound can define, differentiate, and elevate a destination.
