The KSCAPE RAIL system was the clear choice to power Pavion’s new regional office in Raleigh, North Carolina. This innovative technology provides a high end integrated lighting and audio solution that aligns with Pavion’s goals of creating an inspiring, productive, and customer-focused workspace.

The elegant 1.2m architectural light consists of 360 LEDs providing over 60,000 hours of life in a single sleek recessed, semi-recessed, ceiling or suspended device that can provide a full-color spectrum including Tunable white. Equipped with three full-range K-array cone drivers, RAIL is designed to deliver a powerful blend of low and high frequencies, providing continuous and even 100-degree sound coverage making RAIL ideal for background music playback as well as clear audio for video conferencing.

Beyond the technical capabilities, the aesthetic appeal of RAIL was also a decisive factor. The linear, modern design RAIL fixtures integrate beautifully with the overall architectural and interior design of the Pavion office. The clean lines of light create a visually striking and cohesive look that elevates the entire workspace.

The consolidated approach of the RAIL system allowed Pavion to achieve its desired functionality cost-effectively, without the need for separate lighting and audio systems. The integrated CASAMBI works with K-array’s cloud-based amplifiers to further enhance the flexibility of the system, enabling Pavion to easily adjust the lighting and atmosphere of different zones within the office. RAIL proved its versatility and sustainability, by reducing energy usage and costs while enhancing connectivity.

One of Pavion’s primary goals was to create an immersive Customer Experience Center where clients could be fully engaged and inspired. The strategic placement of multiple RAIL units coupled with large-format video displays achieves this objective. The resulting environment is both visually stunning and technologically advanced, providing a memorable experience for Pavion’s customers.

Thoughtful attention to proper lighting and acoustics, whether in building design or sound reinforcement, significantly contributes to creating a sustainable environment for both physical and mental well-being. Pavion recognized this and prioritized features that boosted collaboration, a sense of belonging, and employee well-being in their new space. Pavion’s collaboration with KSCAPE has resulted in a symbiotic fusion of sound and light technology that redefines the modern office experience.

When designing and developing the Pavion Raleigh office, there were three critical focuses: Employees, Customers, and Innovation. The goal was to create a workplace that encourages team members to come to the office, nurtures collaboration, and cultivates a sense of belonging. The biggest requests from Pavion team members when designing the new space were centered around the quality and functionality of the workspace: the IT and collaboration technology, the lighting, the workplace acoustics, and provisions for natural light.

Not everyone embraces new technologies, such as RAIL, right away. One of the principal challenges faced during the project was convincing general contractors who were hesitant to adopt new technology. However, thanks to K-array and Pavion’s training program and project support team, the contractor was successfully guided in adopting this innovative technology. This resolved immediate challenges and benefitted the contractor with an understanding of new technologies for future projects.
