To help visitors learn more about New Jersey’s icons and legends, Electrosonic collaborated with exhibition and experience designers C&G Partners to develop creative audio solutions that bring visitors face-to-face with their heroes.

On the Karaoke Stage, for example, Electrosonic’s audio solution enables visitors to ‘sing along’ with New Jersey’s greatest music legends, sharing the spotlight with stars like Jon Bon Jovi, Gloria Gaynor, Frankie Valli and Bruce Springstein.

Electrosonic brought the stars to life using Pepper’s Ghost technology, which projects virtual images of the singers onto the stage in a ‘live performance’. Electrosonic developed the Pepper’s Ghost icons, integrating the complex projection system with audio systems that playback the artists’ greatest hits and blend them with the visitors’ vocals.

Immersive audio features in the New Jersey Proud Theater where visitors view a short film projected onto a curved screen. The film showcases Hall of Famers with clips and audio from films and television, musical performances, acceptance speeches and notable moments in history. Electrosonic designed and integrated the audio and projection systems to create an immersive cinematic experience.

Immersive audio also features in the ‘Fly me to the Moon’ experience where visitors take a journey through space in a 180-degree dome projection installation that recreates the illusion of space travel. While they travel, visitors can listen to audio narrating New Jersey’s contribution to space exploration.

Another innovative audio installation is a virtual Late-Night Jersey TV Program. Electrosonic created a special broadcast space where visitors can act as hosts of the virtual show and interview New Jersey celebrity guests, such as actors Danny DeVito and Jason Alexander, Olympic gymnast Laurie Hernandez and journalist Connie Chung. To create the illusion of a live interview, Electrosonic integrated a transparent LCD screen that allows visitors talk directly to the celebrities. Visitors ask their guests a series of set questions that focus on the celebrities’ career highlights. ‘Guests’ appear as holograms using green screen technology and respond with pre-recorded answers that relate their inspirational success stories.

The New Jersey Hall of Fame is a 10,000-square-foot space designed by C&G Partners that celebrates the State’s heroes through fascinating memorabilia and immersive, interactive experiences. Electrosonic designed and integrated LED displays, projections and control systems throughout the exhibit areas.

When visitors first arrive, two large LED displays welcome them and give glimpses of the Garden State’s icons and their achievements.

A complex dome projection system creates an immersive experience that ‘takes visitors to the moon’. ‘Fly Me to the Moon’ is an epic voyage that brings to life New Jersey’s many contributions to space exploration. Visitors board a simulation of Model T car inside the 180-degree immersive dome, then ride the car through space and time. Electrosonic’s dome projection and immersive audio solution recreates the illusion of space, while multimedia content highlights achievements such as Buzz Aldrin’s historic moon landing and a visit to the International Space Station, where Mark and Scott Kelly share memories of space exploration.

Projection mapping and gesture-activated interaction enable visitors to explore the lives of the state’s icons on a three-dimensional New Jersey map. Visitors select one of the 200+ names on the map to trigger multimedia content projected onto the surface. Electrosonic integrated camera and sensors with the ceiling projection-mapping system, gesture-activated technology and content delivery system to ensure a seamless experience.

Three of the installations described in the Audio module incorporate advanced projection solutions.
The Karaoke stage features impressive Pepper’s Ghost technology. Electrosonic used the technology to recreate holograms of New Jersey music icons, projecting virtual images of the stars onto the stage so that visitors can sing alongside them in a ‘live performance’.
In the Jersey Proud Theater, Electrosonic designed and integrated the audio and projection systems, carrying out special projection studies to overcome the challenges of projection onto a curved screen and create an immersive cinematic experience.
In the virtual Late-Night Jersey TV Program, Electrosonic integrated a transparent LCD screen that allows visitors talk directly to celebrity guests who appear as holograms using green screen technology.

The New Jersey Hall of Fame Foundation wanted to create an immersive, interactive space that would showcase New Jersey while celebrating the icons and everyday heroes who have contributed to the state’s reputation. While the organizers recognized that technology would be essential to appeal to a digital-savvy generation, the exhibits presented a number of technical challenges that required high levels of collaboration as well as an ability to create seamless holistic solutions delivered by comprehensive services at every stage.

‘Fly Me to the Moon’ incorporates an immersive dome that required complex projection mapping and integration with a MediaMation ride system, content management and immersive audio systems. Designing, building and integrating the exhibit required close collaboration between ride specialists, content producers and technology partners in addition to meeting demanding state approvals.

For the Karaoke Stage, the designers wanted to bring images of New Jersey’s music icons to life on the stage so that visitors could sing alongside them in a virtual live performance. Electrosonic utilized Peppers Ghost technology to recreate the musical icons and developed a special integrated projection and audio solution that enabled the virtual singers to perform on stage.

In the Jersey Proud Theater, the organizers wanted to create a ‘Hollywood premiere’ environment to showcase the achievements of New Jersey’s iconic figures. A curved screen and surround audio helped create the immersive cinematic experience. However, projecting the film onto the curved screen posed significant technical challenges that Electrosonic overcame by carrying out special projection studies to ensure precise positioning of projectors.

The interactive New Jersey map required the complex integration of cameras, projections and sensors with content about more than 200 individuals. This enabled visitors to select any famous figure, trigger projection-mapped content and interact with the content on the three-dimensional surface.

To help the internal team manage the exhibits, Electrosonic developed a unified, simple-to-operate control system to centrally manage and monitor audio and video systems throughout the Hall of Fame. To ensure the exhibits continue to operate reliably, Electrosonic provide a full-time on-site technician to deliver Training, Managed Services, Warranty Support and On-Site Maintenance and Repair.

Electrosonic’s contribution to the New Jersey Hall of Fame has created an immersive, interactive space that enables visitors to meet, understand and interact through technology with the inspirational characters that have shaped the ‘Garden State’.

Electrosonic, in collaboration with the exhibition designers C&G Partners, have used their system integration skills and award-winning experience with other Hall of Fame projects to tell New Jersey’s inspiring stories through technology.

Our innovative installations have taken visitor experience to a higher level by creating a virtual environment where visitors can learn more about New Jersey icons, explore the influences that shaped them and even interact with them in a ‘live’ performance or interview.

Electrosonic have created this high-quality, engaging visitor experience by installing and integrating innovative audiovisual solutions and overcoming significant technical challenges to deliver seamless, holistic solutions through collaboration and comprehensive design, build and support services.

Among the advanced solutions are a 180-degree immersive dome projection experience that ‘flies visitors to the moon’ and a gesture-activated interactive experience where visitors can trigger projection-mapped content onto a 3-dimensional New Jersey map. Electrosonic has leveraged Peppers Ghost technology to bring virtual music icons to life on a Karaoke Stage or used green-screen technology and transparent LED screens to allow visitors to virtually interview celebrity guests in a reimagined Late Night TV program.
Electrosonic’s solutions meet the objectives of the owners who wanted to create a fun experience that would inform and inspire visitors while celebrating the achievements of New Jersey’s icons and everyday heroes.

This is a Hall of Fame that goes beyond the expectations of a digital generation that demands more from venues. It meets the continuing demand for in-person experiences while offering a choice of interactive and virtual installations that allow visitors to create their own personalized journeys through the space.
