The project focused on upgrading the JAG Hotel’s audio system to deliver consistent, high‑quality sound throughout the entire property, including the lobby, bar, spa, gym and a large multipurpose performance venue.

The PA system needed to handle varied room configurations, architectural challenges and different event types while remaining visually unobtrusive.

The hotel’s goal was to achieve “great sound everywhere,”, ensuring an elevated experience for guests and performers alike. SFM recommended and deployed EAW’s ADAPTive technology along with its MKD, MKC and RSX speakers to fit the unique needs of this multi-room project.

The JAG Hotel project presented several notable challenges, each tied to the property’s unique architecture, diverse spaces and the hotel’s request to achieve “great sound everywhere.” The most significant hurdle was designing a system that could deliver even, intelligible coverage across a wide range of environments, from a 1,600‑capacity performance venue to intimate lobby areas, a busy bar, and wellness spaces like the spa and gym. Each zone had different acoustic needs, ambient‑noise profiles and aesthetic considerations, requiring a highly tailored approach rather than a one‑size‑fits‑all solution.

The performance venue posed the most complex technical demands. Its multipurpose nature meant the system had to adapt to changing room configurations, including movable walls that could alter the acoustics dramatically. Traditional fixed‑coverage loudspeakers would have struggled to maintain consistency under these conditions.

This challenge was overcome by deploying EAW’s ADAPTive technology, specifically the Anya full‑range modules and Otto subwoofers, which allowed the team to digitally shape coverage without physically repositioning the system. This ensured the venue could support concerts, theater setups, corporate events and more, all with the same clarity and power.

Elsewhere in the hotel, architectural constraints created additional obstacles. Large pillars in common areas limited placement options and risked obstructing sound paths. The team addressed this by using EAW’s MKD Series, including models like the MKD526 that can be mounted either vertically or horizontally. This flexibility allowed installers to work around structural elements without compromising aesthetics or performance.

Another challenge was maintaining a cohesive sonic signature across multiple zones while respecting the visual design of the hotel. By selecting complementary loudspeaker families (MKD for public spaces, RSX for the bar and MKC for spa and fitness areas), the team ensured consistent tonal quality while matching each space’s functional and architectural needs.

Ultimately, the combination of careful acoustic modeling, adaptable loudspeaker technology and strategic placement allowed SFM and EAW to overcome the hotel’s physical and functional challenges, resulting in a seamless, property‑wide audio experience.

The JAG Hotel audio upgrade stands out as a contender because it exemplifies technical innovation, architectural sensitivity and transformative impact on guest experience. Unlike a simple loudspeaker refresh, this install was a property‑wide reinvention of how sound supports hospitality, entertainment and brand identity. The hotel’s vision of achieving “great sound everywhere” required a system capable of delivering consistent, high‑fidelity coverage across dramatically different environments, from intimate lobby spaces to a 1,600‑capacity performance venue. Meeting that expectation demanded both advanced technology and meticulous design.

The performance venue alone demonstrates why this project deserves recognition. Its multipurpose nature, including movable walls that reshape the room, would traditionally compromise coverage and intelligibility. Instead, the team deployed EAW’s ADAPTive Anya and Otto systems, which adapts all performance parameters electronically without physically moving equipment.

This gave the hotel unprecedented flexibility, supporting concerts, theater, conventions and corporate events with equal precision. Few installations showcase adaptive technology at this scale or with such clear operational benefits.

Beyond the performance venue, the project solved complex architectural challenges throughout the hotel. Large pillars, varied ceiling heights and visually sensitive interiors required loudspeakers that could be placed creatively without sacrificing performance. EAW’s MKD and MKC Series provided the necessary versatility, allowing horizontal or vertical mounting to preserve sightlines while ensuring even coverage.

The result is a system that blends seamlessly into the hotel’s sleek, rock‑and‑roll aesthetic while elevating the sonic environment in every zone.

What truly sets this project apart is its holistic impact. Aside from audio quality, the upgrade also enhanced the hotel’s identity, strengthened its event capabilities and elevated the guest experience from the moment visitors enter the lobby. It demonstrates how thoughtful system design can transform a hospitality venue into a fully immersive destination.
