The installer addressed Folketeatret Oslo’s historic architectural constraints by deploying a flown front fill system behind the main PA (inside the set) and supplementary lip fills to optimise coverage.

The venue integrates over 100 speaker cabinets with a 128×128 channel FletcherMachine, enabling fully object-based spatial mixing.

This setup delivers precise, flexible sound design, ensuring immersive audio experiences across the auditorium. The result is seamless audience coverage, enhanced spatial accuracy, and world-class audio quality that harmonises advanced technology with the venue’s heritage.

The main challenges stemmed from Folketeatret Oslo’s historic architecture, which restricted speaker cabinet placement, and the proscenium’s shape, which positioned the main PA too far downstage, compromising coverage.

To resolve this, the installer deployed a flown front fill system behind the main PA (within the set) and added lip fills, ensuring uniform sound distribution while respecting the venue’s structural limitations.

This project sets a new standard for immersive audio at Folketeatret Oslo, integrating over 100 speaker cabinets with a fully object-based spatial mixing system. The 128×128 channel FletcherMachine enables precise and flexible sound design, creating a truly immersive experience for audiences.

Despite architectural challenges, the installation seamlessly blends advanced technology with the venue’s historic space, enhancing every performance with world-class audio quality.
