Graham Rahal Performance is a massive complex in Indianapolis, Indiana that brings together multiple luxury automotive showrooms including Ducati and Piaggio, performance garages, The Wheelhouse restaurant, Rivet coffee bar, retail areas, and a private car country club. NTT INDYCAR Series driver Graham Rahal envisioned music as central to the atmosphere, woven throughout each space.

The brief required high-quality audio suited to each environment — from the refined atmosphere of the showrooms to the open energy of the outdoor grounds — delivered across massive ceilings, open industrial environments, drop tile business spaces, and a large exterior landscape.

Triphase leveraged Sonance’s design services team, submitting blueprints with context about the goal of each space and receiving coverage maps that identified optimal loudspeaker placement across the complex.

In the open, high-ceiling showroom environments of Ducati, Piaggio, Ray Hall Paint Protection, and Ray Hall Performance, Triphase deployed Sonance Professional Series Pendant speakers and Subwoofers, bringing audio down from the deck and delivering consistent coverage throughout each space. In the meeting rooms, The Wheelhouse restaurant, and Rivet coffee bar, Sonance Professional Series In-Ceiling speakers provided a clean, discreet audio solution that blended naturally into each environment. Speaker grilles were custom painted to match the ceilings in each space.

Outdoors, a full Sonance Landscape Series speaker system spans the entire front of the property, running continuously from open to close, and is tied into a microphone setup allowing Graham to welcome guests, make announcements, and run events like Cars and Coffee from a single unified audio infrastructure.

A highlight was a custom James soundbar for the Ducati showroom — finished in a matching custom Ducati color and fitted with a laser-etched grille bearing the Ducati logo — quietly installed on the morning of the grand opening as a surprise for Graham and General Manager Keith Gingrich.

Today, music moves through every corner of Graham Rahal Performance, tying together the energy of the showrooms, the warmth of The Wheelhouse and Rivet, the activity of the service bays, the outdoor gatherings, and the private club into a single, seamless experience.

Meeting Rahal’s vision across such a sprawling, multi-use property meant delivering high-quality audio suited to each environment. With massive ceilings, open industrial environments, drop tile in business spaces, and a large exterior landscape, a single approach couldn’t serve them all.

Triphase leveraged Sonance’s design services team, submitting blueprints with context about the goal of each space and receiving coverage maps in return that identified optimal loudspeaker placement — ensuring the right product was in the right position before installation began.

In the open, high-ceiling showroom environments, Triphase deployed Sonance Professional Series Pendant speakers and Subwoofers to bring audio down from the deck and deliver consistent coverage. In the meeting rooms and hospitality spaces, Professional Series In-Ceiling speakers provided a clean, discreet solution compatible with drop tile and standard ceiling types. To complement the sleek aesthetics throughout, speaker grilles were custom painted to match the ceilings in each space.

Outdoors, a full Sonance Landscape Series system spans the entire front of the property and is integrated with a microphone setup — adding the complexity of live announcement capability and event support to what was already a large-scale, multi-zone installation.

Close collaboration between Triphase Technologies, Sonance’s design services team, and James Loudspeaker ensured that every challenge — acoustic, aesthetic, and logistical — was resolved before installation, not during it.

Graham Rahal Performance is a home base built for performance enthusiasts where car culture and community come together — and its audio system reflects that ambition in every detail.

From the moment the complex opened, Rahal knew that music would be central to the atmosphere, woven throughout each space. Triphase Technologies delivered on that vision across one of the most architecturally varied installation environments imaginable — showrooms, restaurants, coffee bars, service bays, outdoor grounds, and a private club — unified into a single, seamless experience. This was made possible through early engagement with Sonance’s design services team, whose coverage mapping ensured optimal placement across every zone before a single speaker was installed.

The bespoke James Loudspeaker soundbar — custom finished in Ducati livery with a laser-etched logo grille and delivered as a surprise on opening morning — exemplifies the creative ambition of this project. It is the kind of detail that elevates an installation from technically excellent to genuinely memorable, and it speaks to the depth of collaboration between Triphase Technologies and James Loudspeaker.

The impact is felt by everyone who enters. Music moves continuously through the complex from open to close, energizing the showrooms, warming the hospitality spaces, and powering outdoor events like Cars and Coffee — a popular community gathering where automotive enthusiasts meet to show off their vehicles. As General Manager Keith Gingrich says: “From the coffee shop to the Ducati showroom, to the outdoor events — music is always part of the experience. It keeps people relaxed and brings the whole place to life.”

This project is a testament to what’s possible when a strong creative vision, a skilled integrator, and a manufacturer invested in the outcome all work toward the same goal.
