Clair Global Integration (CGI) was engaged by WJHW and the San Francisco 49ers to deliver a major audio upgrade at Levi’s Stadium in preparation of the 2026 Super Bowl and World Cup matches. The scope included installing new bowl loudspeakers mounted on custom seismic rated rigging frames. CGI selected JBL Professional for the new end-firing system which is positioned behind the scoreboard.
The system combines VLA301Hi, VLA601Hi, and VLA901Hi arrays with Fulcrum Acoustic CS218L-WR subwoofers, powered by Powersoft Unica 12K and 16K amplifiers.

n addition, CGI installed a DiGiCo Quantum 338 console and a Shure Axient IEM system in the audio control room, and redesigned patch bays to improve overall signal flow.

The largest array measures 27ft long and weighs approximately 8,400lbs, while the smallest stands at 7.5 ft tall and weighs 2,500lbs. Due to the considerable weight of the system and the outdoor nature of this venue – located on the San Andreas Fault – the new bowl speakers required custom seismic rated rigging frames which were designed as exoskeleton structures.
Speakers were pre-mounted at precisely calculated, fixed angles. Each frame was fitted with large, forged steel wheels, allowing for a smooth transition during installation.
The arrays were assembled in the stadium’s parking lot using truss-built gantries, chain motors, and forklifts, hoisted into position via a crane into trolley beams inside the scoreboard, before being secured in place with seismic bracing. Getting this right is critical for any outdoor PA installation.
Through stringent coordination and unfaltering teamwork between CGI, expert riggers from RIG, and the venue’s on-site superintendent, Ben Adams, the new audio system was also pre-wired in advance to streamline the potentially challenging installation’s compressed construction schedule.

This venue exemplifies CGI’s “From Construction to Production” ethos.
During the San Francisco 49ers home opener in October 2025, CGI invited the primary Super Bowl audio team from Clair Global’s ATK Audiotek brand and the league, to walk the bowl and evaluate the new system as part of Super Bowl audio planning.
The Super Bowl’s audio execution requires considerable experience for both the live entertainment and game audio delivery. As seasoned experts in large-scale stadium production, the ATK team were pleased with the powerful new bowl design, its coverage, and fidelity. Their assessment ultimately confirmed that with such an efficient new system, no supplemental flown speakers were required for game-day audio.
Beyond handling the sporting elements, the JBL loudspeakers effectively served as extensions and delay systems for the entertainment audio too, reinforcing CGI’s approach of enabling venues to utilize existing infrastructure to deliver high-performance live events.
This is fundamental to a successful stadium install – especially, with a high caliber event such as the Super Bowl, where the world is watching. Viewing figures peaked at 137.8 million during the second quarter and Clair Global touring client, Bad Bunny, made history as the first half time show artist to perform solely in Spanish. Levi’s Stadium is a great example of Clair Global’s internal collaboration for the ultimate fan experience.
