Tiger Club in Hossegor, a hybrid sports bar, restaurant and nightclub, initially approached South Events for a single LED screen. As discussions evolved, the brief expanded into a full redesign of the venue’s audiovisual, lighting, automation and security infrastructure. The client needed a high‑quality, versatile system capable of supporting sports broadcasts, dining service, DJ sets, live performances and private karaoke, all while respecting strict noise‑control requirements due to nearby residences. South Events was tasked with delivering a cohesive, high‑performance solution, with APG loudspeakers forming the core of a fully integrated, multi‑zone AV environment.

As the appointed integrator for Tiger Club in Hossegor, South Events was initially approached to supply a single LED screen. However, it quickly became clear that the hybrid venue—part sports bar, part restaurant, part nightclub—required a fully unified audiovisual, lighting, automation and security ecosystem. Our process began with a detailed needs assessment, followed by an acoustic impact study to determine strict sound‑level limits due to the venue’s central location and proximity to residential areas.

APG’s loudspeaker systems became the foundation of the audio design. Working closely with APG’s technical team, we carried out extensive acoustic modelling in EASE 5 to validate coverage, intelligibility and spill control across multiple zones. This ensured the system would deliver high‑quality sound while respecting environmental constraints.

For the bar and restaurant areas, we deployed 17 APG iX5 coaxial loudspeakers paired with three iS110 subwoofers, powered by DA2.8 Dante amplifiers. This configuration provided warm, balanced coverage suitable for background music, dining service and high‑energy sports nights. In the clubbing zone, the system expanded to four iX8s, two iX6s and two iS115 compact subwoofers, driven by DA2.8 and DA6 amplifiers. This delivered the necessary impact for DJ sets and late‑night events while maintaining tight dispersion control to minimise noise leakage.

A standout element of the project was the creation of a professional‑grade private karaoke room. APG’s diffusion system, combined with Shure microphones and IImaya video, allowed us to recreate a live‑performance feel in an intimate space. The room is fully integrated into the wider venue, enabling Tiger Club to transform the entire site into a large‑scale karaoke experience.

All audio routing is handled via Dante, with an Allen & Heath matrix providing flexible control for DJs, live acts and comedy performances. Outdoor areas were equipped with discreet, low‑output systems to further reduce noise pollution.

Since opening, Tiger Club has reported exceptional customer feedback and operational simplicity. The success of the installation has already led to two additional projects, confirming APG’s systems as a trusted foundation for South Events’ integrated AV designs.

The Tiger Club project presented several technical and environmental challenges that required a carefully engineered approach. As the integrator, South Events had to design a system capable of delivering high‑quality audio for a multifunctional venue while respecting strict acoustic constraints imposed by its central location in Hossegor.

The first major challenge was managing sound dispersion in a venue surrounded by residential properties. An acoustic impact study established precise limits for each zone, meaning the audio system had to deliver clarity and energy without excessive spill. To overcome this, we collaborated closely with APG during the design phase, using EASE 5 modelling to predict coverage, optimise loudspeaker placement and validate system performance before installation. This ensured that every loudspeaker contributed effectively to the listening experience while maintaining tight control over environmental noise.

Another challenge was the venue’s hybrid nature. Tiger Club transitions throughout the day from restaurant to sports bar to nightclub, each requiring different output levels, tonal balance and routing flexibility. We addressed this by implementing a Dante‑based architecture with an Allen & Heath matrix at its core. This allowed seamless switching between modes, easy integration of guest equipment via DI boxes, and precise control over each audio zone.

The creation of the private karaoke room introduced additional complexity. The client wanted a professional, immersive experience rather than a consumer‑grade setup. We designed a dedicated APG diffusion system paired with Shure microphones and IImaya video, ensuring studio‑quality sound and synchronised AV performance. Integrating this room into the wider venue required careful routing and automation so that the entire club could be transformed into a large‑scale karaoke environment when needed.

Finally, the project required tight coordination across audio, video, lighting and automation. With more than 20 screens, a full LED wall, and dynamic lighting (including MinuitUne lighting fixtures), South Events had to ensure all systems communicated flawlessly. A Wyrestorm distribution platform and an Artnet‑based lighting network provided the reliability and responsiveness required.

Through meticulous planning, advanced modelling and close collaboration with APG, we delivered a system that meets the venue’s demanding operational needs while enhancing the overall customer experience.

Tiger Club represents a standout example of how integrated AV design can elevate a venue far beyond its original brief. What began as a simple request for an LED screen evolved into a fully unified audio, video, lighting and automation ecosystem, engineered to deliver exceptional performance while respecting strict environmental constraints. This project showcases the best of what modern integrators and manufacturers can achieve when working in close partnership.

At the heart of the installation is APG’s loudspeaker technology, chosen for its precision, musicality and controlled dispersion. In a venue located in the centre of town and surrounded by residential buildings, achieving impactful sound without disturbing neighbours was a significant challenge. Through detailed EASE 5 modelling and careful system tuning, South Events and APG delivered a solution that meets both acoustic regulations and the venue’s ambition for high‑energy entertainment.

The project also demonstrates remarkable versatility. Tiger Club operates as a restaurant, sports bar, nightclub and karaoke venue, all within the same footprint. The Dante‑based audio architecture, combined with APG’s scalable loudspeaker ecosystem, allows the venue to shift seamlessly between modes, supporting DJ sets, live acts, comedy nights and immersive karaoke experiences with equal ease.

The private karaoke room is a particular highlight: a professional‑grade, fully integrated space that delivers a live‑performance feel in an intimate setting. Its ability to interface with the entire venue adds a unique operational dimension rarely seen in hospitality environments.

Finally, the project’s success is reflected in its impact. Tiger Club has reported outstanding customer feedback, operational simplicity and strong commercial results. The installation has already led to additional projects in the region, underscoring the quality and reliability of the solution.

This project deserves recognition for its technical excellence, creative integration and the transformative experience it delivers to both operators and guests.
