This project represents a groundbreaking achievement in audio/visual entertainment, redefining the karaoke experience at an unprecedented scale. As Europe’s largest karaoke bar, BAM Karaoke Box required an intricate fusion of cutting-edge technology and seamless user interaction across 22 high-end private karaoke rooms and a central bar with a live performance stage.

At the heart of this project is an audio system meticulously designed to deliver exceptional sound quality across multiple environments, enhancing both the guest experience and overall venue performance. Every element has been carefully chosen and strategically placed to create an immersive and dynamic audio landscape.

In communal areas, Sonance Professional in-ceiling speakers provide pristine background music while blending seamlessly into the venue’s aesthetic. Custom-coloured grills ensure that while the speakers remain visually unobtrusive, they contribute to the carefully curated ambience.

The stage area is equipped with a powerful NEXO speaker and subwoofer system, ensuring that both karaoke performances and live acts benefit from concert-quality sound. With Pioneer DJ equipment and a Yamaha mixing desk, performers and sound engineers have precise control over audio dynamics, enabling a polished, professional-grade sound experience.

Within the private karaoke rooms, Bose professional speakers provide crisp, clear vocal reproduction, while hidden Nexo subwoofers embedded in banquet seating deliver deep, immersive bass. Each room’s audio is expertly tuned to provide the best possible sound balance, allowing guests to enjoy a high-quality karaoke experience tailored to their space.

Each room is equipped with Shure wireless microphones, providing excellent clarity for voices both good and bad. With Shure receivers hidden locally in the joinery, the aesthetic remains intact whilst providing a stable connection within each room. Additional inputs for wired microphones are available in the rooms for even greater flexibility.

Lighting plays a crucial role in shaping the atmosphere of this entertainment venue, and our integration of advanced control systems ensures both staff and guests can customise their environment effortlessly. By combining Crestron’s custom touch panel with Mode Lighting’s system, we created an intuitive and highly responsive lighting setup that enhances both functionality and aesthetics.

Throughout the venue, staff can easily manage lighting levels and scenes via the Crestron control interface. This centralised system allows for quick adjustments across all areas, from the communal spaces and bar to the private karaoke rooms and live performance stage. By streamlining lighting control, staff can focus more on guest experience rather than manual adjustments, ensuring a smooth operation even during peak hours.

The private karaoke rooms offer a highly immersive and customisable lighting experience. Guests can control their room’s lighting directly from the in-room touchscreen, adjusting brightness levels, selecting colours, or setting dynamic scenes to match the mood of their performance. LED strip lighting provides an extra layer of ambience, changing hues to enhance the energy of each song. This personalised control empowers guests to craft a fully immersive experience, making each performance unique.

This lighting system is designed not just for convenience but to elevate the entire venue’s atmosphere. Whether it’s subtle ambient lighting for a relaxed lounge feel, dynamic stage lighting for a high-energy performance, or vibrant colour effects to match a karaoke session, the system delivers total flexibility. The combination of seamless integration, easy operation, and guest-led personalisation sets a new standard in entertainment venue lighting.

The visual design of this project was crafted to enhance both guest engagement and venue versatility, ensuring every performance and event is accompanied by crisp, high-definition visuals. By integrating premium Samsung and Sony displays, we created a setup that is both functional and aesthetically refined, blending cutting-edge technology with the venue’s sleek interior.

Each private karaoke room is fitted with a Samsung TV, carefully sized to complement the space. These screens provide guests with clear and responsive lyrics, ensuring a smooth karaoke experience. The seamless integration of these displays within the room design ensures that visuals are a focal point without being intrusive, allowing guests to stay fully immersed in their performance.

In the main stage area, we implemented a discreet yet powerful visual feature—an 85-inch Sony TV concealed behind a Silent Gliss curtain. This setup allows the stage to transform effortlessly from a live performance space into a watch-party hub, where guests can enjoy major events like Eurovision in stunning clarity. The ability to reveal or hide the display ensures that the stage remains versatile, accommodating both karaoke sessions and large-scale screenings without compromising the venue’s design.

This approach to visual integration ensures that the venue delivers a premium experience across all areas. Whether guests are singing in a private room or enjoying a communal watch party, the carefully curated display technology provides crystal-clear visuals that elevate every moment. With a perfect balance of functionality and aesthetic discretion, this project demonstrates how visual elements can enhance an entertainment venue without overwhelming the space.

The integration of special effects in this venue goes beyond traditional entertainment setups, introducing innovative technology that enhances the guest experience while maintaining premium sound and service efficiency. From interactive recording features to smart volume control, every element has been designed to optimise both performance and comfort.

One of the standout features in each karaoke room is the ceiling-mounted boundary microphone and web camera, positioned to allow guests to record their performances. Whether for personal keepsakes or sharing with friends, this technology enables high-quality session recordings, bringing a unique and memorable element to the karaoke experience.

To further enhance convenience, an iPad ordering system is provided in each room, allowing guests to order food and drinks without leaving their booth. This minimises interruptions, maximises enjoyment, and ensures a smooth, efficient service model for both guests and staff.

An additional layer of intelligent design is the door contact sensor integrated into the top of each karaoke room door, which works in tandem with the Yamaha audio system. When a door is opened, the system automatically lowers the room’s volume, preventing noise from spilling into communal areas. This not only preserves the venue’s atmosphere but also enhances guest comfort by maintaining balanced audio levels throughout the space.

By incorporating performance recording, seamless ordering, and smart volume management, this venue represents a forward-thinking approach to karaoke entertainment. The integration of advanced special effects ensures a dynamic, immersive, and guest-focused experience, making it a benchmark for high-end AV installations in the entertainment sector.

Delivering a seamless audio/visual experience for Europe’s largest karaoke bar came with several key challenges, from system integration to ensuring an intuitive user experience. The complexity of synchronising multiple layers of technology—including audio, visual, lighting, and security—while maintaining high performance across 22 private karaoke rooms and a large live performance area required meticulous planning and execution.

One of the primary challenges was ensuring consistent sound quality across multiple spaces while preventing audio bleed between rooms. This was addressed through precise acoustic treatment and the careful calibration of high-end audio hardware from Bose, Nexo, and Yamaha. Each room was individually tuned to optimise sound quality while minimising interference.

Another major hurdle was the integration of various control systems, including volume and effects adjustments, lighting control, and CCTV monitoring. To overcome this, a centralised AV management system was implemented, allowing staff to monitor and adjust room settings seamlessly. User-friendly interfaces were designed to give guests control over their experience without overwhelming them with technical complexity.

The live performance stage in the bar area added another layer of complexity, requiring a setup that could transition smoothly between karaoke and live performances. This was achieved by designing a flexible audio and lighting system capable of adapting to different performance requirements with minimal manual intervention.

Through careful system design, rigorous testing, and collaboration with industry-leading brands, we successfully transformed these challenges into a fully immersive and technically robust venue that sets a new benchmark in entertainment.
